I am really excited about the next TSGNY lecturer, Orly Genger, next Wed, March 18th. I think it is an understatement to say her work is large scale is an understatement. She draws with rope...need I say more? I have been looking for a bio and can't seem to find one but I am excited to learn more. If you are in the NYC area, please attend, should be a great night!
You are invited to attend the next meeting of the Textile Study Group of New York
SPEAKER: ORLY GENGER
Using
the looping techniques of knitting and crochet, ORLY GENGER wrestles
lengths of rope into scarf-like sections that she folds and layers into
massive, monolithic objects. For a preview of her work, go here.
